Water Use and Withdrawals

2010 Freshwater Withdrawals

Water use data is actually water withdrawal data and it is counted as where the withdrawal has occurred, not where the water is used. During 2010, 1,472 million gallons per day (Mgal/d) of freshwater was withdrawn from surface-water and groundwater sources in Maryland, 300 Mgal/d in Delaware, and 0.10 Mgal/d in the District of Columbia.
