7. Waites Run near Wardensville, WV (Station 01610400)

Waites Run was selected for sampling as a reference stream located in a predominantly natural watershed in the highlands of West Virginia. Most of the watershed is forested and located within the George Washington National Forest. Routine NAWQA samples have been collected from Waites Run since 2001, and sampling is continuing at present.
