Muddy Creek at Mount Clinton, VA

Muddy Creek was selected for sampling to represent streams in intensively agricultural areas overlying carbonate bedrock. The stream is a tributary to the Shenandoah River in northern Virginia. Land use in the watershed is predominantly agricultural, including cattle and poultry production, as well as corn. NAWQA sampling at Muddy Creek began in 1993 and is continuing at present.
