Research or professional focus / current projects
Research interests encompass coastal hydrology, Groundwater, wetlands, and urban hydrology. Projects recently completed were an analysis of the effects of Groundwater withdrawal on the water resources of Southern Maryland, investigating saltwater intrusion into a historically-fresh Chesapeake Bay marsh, and assessing heavy metal contamination on a National Wildlife Refuge in Delaware. Current interests include Groundwater measurement in an urbanized watershed, water resource assessments near Maryland military bases in response to an influx of personnel, and serving as the chair of the Scientific and Technical Advisory Committee to the Delaware Estuary Program.

Other Information
Active in the Sierra Club outings program, both locally and nationally. Activities outside of work include hiking, camping, bicycling and kayaking. I also write fiction for a hobby when it's too unpleasant to be outside.
