Streamwater data --

Contaminant survey of streambed sediment and aquatic biological tissues

Site Location Map

Streambed sediments were sampled once at 26 streams between 1992 and 1995. Twenty-two streams were sampled for aquatic biological tissues, 21 at which sediment was also sampled. Asiatic clams (Corbicula fluminea) were collected at 16 streams and fish tissue: yellow bullhead (Ameriurus natalis), redbreast sunfish (Lepomis auritus), rock bass (Ambloplites rupestris), or shorthead redhorse (Moxostoma macrolpidotum), were collected at 12 streams. Both clam and fish tissues were sampled at 6 of the same streams, all of which have sediment samples. All samples were analyzed for organics, major inorganics, and trace metals.
