GAGE.--Water-stage recorder. Datum of gage is 861.51 ft above sea level (U.S. Army Corps of Engineers datum). Prior to Mar. 11, 1940, nonrecording gage at Harness Ford Bridge 2.0 mi upstream at datum about 31 ft higher.
REMARKS.--Water-discharge records fair except those for estimated daily discharges (ice effect, sluggish intakes), which are poor. The flow from 92.7 mi 2 upstream from station is partially controlled, but not diverted, by several floodwater detention reservoirs with a total combined detention capacity of 19,870 acre-ft.
