Hurricane Floyd produced torrential downpours and flooding across parts of Maryland and Delaware. Hardest hit was Cecil County, Maryland, and New Castle County, Delaware. Rainfall amounts were greatest in the vicinity of Kent County, Maryland, with 14 inches reported at Chesterton.
